The name FDE is used differently at every company. Solutions engineer, AX lead, product manager, founder — the titles vary, but the work overlaps a great deal. What that work actually is has been written down nowhere.
This whitepaper asks that one question. What does the role of walking into the field, defining the problem yourself, and building the thing essentially do?
It is not a document one person writes and hands over. It is a place this community fills in from here.
